Why join BTS?

All officers of the Britain Tanzania Society are voluntary and unpaid. Only a small amount of money is needed for administration such as postage and production of the BTS magazine, ‘Tanzanian Affairs’.

Our surplus is given to our sister organisation, the Tanzania Development Trust. By joining you will become a part of a small, albeit vital, charity that has already helped improve the lives of thousands of underprivileged Tanzanians.

You will also be eligible for the following:

BTS Publications:

  • “Tanzanian affairs” – is a magazine (3 issues per year) containing articles and essays discussing current affairs in Tanzania. They vary from an ‘opinion on school fees’ by a farmer from the western Usambara mountains to a report on the new anti corruption measures to news of the political scene – a diverse publication.
  • The BTS Newsletter is also published 3 times a year and gives news of seminars, BTS tours and receptions.

BTS Seminars:

You would also have the right to attend all the seminars and meetings set up by the BTS. This would give you the opportunity to have a say on how you think the projects should be run and promote new ideas.
