The Britain Tanzania Society warmly invites members, friends, and guests to a reception to mark the Society’s 50th anniversary, to be held at The Oriental Club, Stratford House, Stratford Place, London W1C 1ES, on Thursday 2nd July 2026 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm.
A reception at The Oriental Club marking fifty years of the Britain Tanzania Society, with the Society’s President, H.E. Jakaya Kikwete.
We are honoured to welcome as our principal guests H.E. Mbelwa Kairuki, High Commissioner of the United Republic of Tanzania to the United Kingdom, and H.E. Marianne Young, British High Commissioner to the United Republic of Tanzania.
During the evening, the Society’s President, H.E. Dr Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, fourth President of the United Republic of Tanzania, will present two specially chosen artworks to the High Commissioners.
The artworks will hang in the two High Commissions as a permanent reminder of the friendship and partnership the Society has helped to nurture across half a century.
A welcome drink and canapés will be served on arrival, with a cash bar thereafter.
The presentation will take place at approximately 7:00 pm.
